Whimsical windshadows roaming the range
Thundering hoof beats shower the terrain
Collectively together all in one stride
they twist and turn up the mountain side
Under the command of one great steed
They trust in him and follow his lead
What is this: he snorts, and paws at the ground
Restless he becomes knowing danger is around
He bolts and searches for somewhere to hide
Mares and foals close at his side
An eagle sings out in a mournful cry
As he watches his friend shot down and die
His family is gathered and taken away
No longer they run, no longer they play
Silence takes over the wide open range
No longer they roam the Mighty Mustang
